Police nab two men wanted in 6 theft cases

Another success for police having nabbed two thieves behind at least six incidents of theft in various colonies of the city. Cops have seized booty worth Rs 2 lakh along with a motorbike. The two accused of theft from two different places jointly targeted unattended homes and used to lift vehicles. They were apprehended on Wednesday late night from Karaunda by-pass when police, in course of patrolling, found them in suspicious conditions venturing near the by-pass area. The success for the police was detailed by Superintendent of Police Jabalpur Amit Singh while addressing a press conference on Thursday evening at Police Control Room.


According to information, in view of directives issued by SP Jabalpur to tighten noose around miscreants involved in theft incidents, intensive patrolling is being carried out to nab suspected miscreants. On Wednesday night, near Karaunda by-pass, police in course of patrolling found two miscreants in suspicious condition venturing at power plant near the by-pass area. Having seen the police, the two attempted to move out from the location, but were summarily stopped and were brought to police station for interrogation. Suspecting their credentials, the two were subjected to interrogation. In course of interrogation, they revealed of their indulgence in theft incidents that included house break and lifting of parked vehicles from public places.

The two accused revealed their identity as Mohammed Faheem alias Rahis Idris Khan (34), resident of Pani ki Tanki, Katanga under Cantt police station, while another as Ajay alias Arvind Ajju Dhaniram Patel (32), resident of village Saroli under Kundam police station and presently residing at Lalmati under Ghamapur police station. Both used to target unattended homes and vehicles parked at public places. In course of interrogation, they confessed to having targeted unattended homes in colonies falling under Madhotal, Gorakhpur and Madanmahal police stations.


After being arrested, cops took them to a place, where they had kept the stolen booty. Cops who reached the said location have seized gold and silver ornaments, silver Ganesha statue, watches, one motorbike and other goods worth around Rs 2 lakh. Ajay alias Arvind Ajju Dhaniram Patel(32), the main accused having earned fame as thief, used to venture into various colonies to take stock of unattended homes. He would seek help of Faheem and then, used to indulge in house break to steal household valuables. Mohammed Faheem alias Rahis Idris Khan used to help in disposing off the stolen goods.


The police team comprising SHO Madotal Akhilesh Gaur, PSI Manoj Kumar Rai, ASI Ravindra Nath Pandey Arvind Tiwari, Santosh Masram, Head Constable Pancham Yadav, Rajkumar Tiwari, Sarita Dubey and others offered valuable support and would be given suitable prize by SP Jabalpur.
