One dies of swine flu

First death due to swine flu has been registered at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical College and Hospital on Friday morning. As per information, a 67-year old patient suffering from swine flu (H1N1) died while undergoing treatment at Jabalpur Medical College. Death of patient suffering from swine flu created chaos in the health department.

Four more patients with H1N1 positive symptoms and six patients under suspected category, are undergoing treatment in the isolated ward of Jabalpur Medical College and Hospital. As per sources, samples of four patients suspected with swine flu were sent to Virology Lab for test. After proper test, these samples were found positive and the patients were admitted in Medical College and Hospital. Later on, six more suspected cases were admitted and their sample were sent to the lab for confirmation.

Due to deteriorating health, the patient was kept on ventilator in isolation ward. Despite all efforts, the patient could not survived. the sources informed that condition of four patients was also critical . However, when contacted, Superintendent, Jabalpur Medical College and Hospital, Dr Rajesh Tiwari admitted about death of a swine flu patient but added that he was critically diabetic that added to the intensity of swine flu. Dr Tiwari blamed the changing weather for creating positive conditions for swine flu and expressed concern that the number of cases can be increased in the days to come.
