Young active social media users to support Poshan Abhiyan

ANSH Happiness Society in partnership with UNICEF, Madhya Pradesh organised a meet involving around 50 young people who are active on Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and Google plus came together as a part of social media meet organised in Bhopal on Friday.

Michael Juma, Chief, UNICEF, Madhya Pradesh, spoke about importance of first thousand days in the life of a child and how young social media champions can contribute to support disseminate key messages on social media while addressing young people. 

Dr P Shashikala, Head of Department of New Media of Makhanlal Chaturvedi Rashtriya Patrakarita Vishwavidyalaya, spoke on need of young people to contribute to issues and use  the power of social media to contribute for children. Dr Sameer Pawar, Nutrition Specialist, Pushpa Awasthy, Nutrition Officer, UNICEF MP, spoke to youngsters on what is Poshan Abhiyan, importance of nutrition in life of child and challenges for children and key messages of Poshan Abhiyan and nutrition which they can disseminate using social media platforms. 

Communication Specialist, UNICEF, MP, Anil Gulati shared key hashtags which should be used and tools which can be used to share tweets, posts on various social media platforms. 

Participants later worked on game called social media battle, in which they were divided in teams and worked out creative ways to express the content. They worked out illustrations, poems, videos, posters, photographs to express key message. The game was led by Mohsin Khan, Co-founder ANSH.

At the end of the event all participants took oath to support Poshan Abhiyaan and help spread reach out of messages to benefit children and women of India.
