Awareness rally organised under Eye Donation Awareness Fortnight

In order to create awareness amongst masses during Eye Donation Awareness Fortnight, an Eye Donation Awareness Rally was taken out, on Sunday. The rally was jointly organised by various organisations including Saksham Mahakoshal Prant, Dada Virendrapuri Jii Netra Bank, Stadium Parivaar, Good Morning Club, Rotary Club Jabalpur South, Indian Medical Association, District Blind Eradication Committee, Roshani Netradaan Samiti and others.

Minister of State for Medical Education, Sharad Jain, Mayor, Dr. Swati Godbole, MLA Ashok Rohani, Nanaji Deshmukh University of Veterinary Sciences, Jabalpur, Vice Chancellor, Professor P D Guyal, Municipal Corporation Leader of Opposition, Rajesh Sonkar, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Bhagwat Singh Chouhan, Dr Pradeep Dubey, Dr Pawan Tiwari, MIC Member, Shreeram Shukla, Jagat Bahadur Singh Annu, Pankaj Pandey, Amrish Mishra and other graced the occasion with their special presence. The rally was flagged off by the Blind Students. Rally Coordinator, Dr Pawan Sthapak informed that our country houses above 25 per cent of Blindness in the world. That could be eradicated through eye donation and lens transplantation. Owing to awareness the percentage of eye donation is very low. And every year around 20,000 people blind people are increasing. In series to add society and public participation in eye donation series of events are being organised involving social, political, religious institutions, eminent dignitaries, etc. In holding event successful students of Blind, Bhawartaal, Blind School Government, NSS Cadets, School students, Medical representatives, Jabalpur Pharma Managers Association, etc.
