Elderly woman found murdered, tied to cot at home in Bakera

A 78-year-old woman was found lying dead on the cot with hands and legs and cotton stuffed in the mouth in village Bakera under Rampayali police station. The widow was residing alone and when villagers reached her home, they found the door broken and woman lying dead on the cot.
According to information, soon after the incident came to fore, Chitrasen Bisen informed Veerendra Lekchandra Pardhi who contacted Dr Pratap Bisen and asked him to reach the spot.


After Dr Bisen reached the spot, he examined the woman and found her lying dead. Her nephew Veerendra Pardhi was informed on phone who rushed to the spot and then informed at Rampayli police station. Cops reached the spot, carried out investigation, made panchnama and sent the body for autopsy to government hospital. The deceased woman was identified as Bhaganbai Mangal Bisen. The old woman was staying alone in the village after her husband’s death.


Cops informed that both hands and leg were tied to the cot and cotton was stuffed in the mouth. The neck showed strangulation marks. SHO Vijaysingh Sisodiya said that it seemed that the woman was strangulated but the actual cause behind the death would be established only after the autopsy report was tabled for examination.


“We have registered case under section 302 of IPC against the unidentified assailant behind the murder of the old woman,” the cop added.


Villagers residing near the house of the deceased woman are being questioned to provide information on people who used to visit the house. The brutal
murder has caused panic in the village.
