Grand shobhayatra marks celebrations of Shrikrishna Janmashtami

“Bhagwan Shri Ram and Shri Krishna are the national identities of India. Since, thousands of years, both Ram and Krishna are ruling over the hearts of Indians. The festival of Janmashtami is celebrated across the country to worship Shri Krishna. Vishwa Hindu Parishad established on the day of Janmashtami is maintaining the cultural identity of the country,” said Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Shipping and Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation.

Gadkari was addressing as the chief guest of Shri Krishna Janmotsav Shobhayatra organised by Vishwa Hindu Parishad from Gorakshan Sabha on Sunday. Gadkari appreciated the work of VHP and greeted the citizens for Janmashtami.The shobhayatra, to mark 54th foundation day of VHP, was started with zeal and fervour from the premises of Gorakshan Sabha. Gadkari performed pujan of idol of Shri Krishna placed on the decorated chariot and flagged off the procession.The main decorated chariot of Shri Krishna sponsored by Vithoba Dant Manjan was on the forefront. 51 girls holding Mangal Kalash on their heads were walking behind the chariot.The shobhayatra consisted three dhol pathaks (band troops), 26 attractive floats, lezim, bands, music system and three akhadas demonstrating traditional exercises and ancient warfare techniques etc.

The prominent attractive floats include float of Adasa Ganesh, Shri Ram Panchayatan, Sant Gora Kumbhar, Akhand Bharat, Bhole Shankar Darshan, Warah Awatar, Jam Saoli Hanuman Mandir, Radha Krishna etc. Swami Vivekanand Vidya Mandir, Vijay Nagar; Shriram Ashram Shala Deolapar; Primary Ashram Shala, Udasa; Matrushakti Kalyan Kendra, Shri Shiv Chhatrapati Akhada Doha, Hindi Bhashi Mahila Bhajan Mandal; Marathi Bhashi Bhajan Mandal; Shri Gajanan Mahila Bhajan Mandal Timki; On Hare Ram Hare Krishna Sankirtan Mandal; Haripaath Mandal Bhagwan Nagar; Mangaldeep Band Party of Lahanuji Ingale; Saraswati Band Party, Sakharkar Electricals, Keshavnand Sound Service, Raj Darbar Band Party, Kothiwan Sound Service, Sunil Decoration, Shanti Nagar; Ray Sports Club, Shrikrishna Nagar etc participated in the procession.

The shobhayatra passed through Lokmat Square, Panchsheel Square, Jhanshi Rani Square, Lohapul Square, Cotton Market Square and concluded at Geeta Mandir, Subhash Road. Swami Nirmalanand Maharaj and Bhagirathi Maharaj performed pujan and Nandotsav was held on its conclusion at Geeta Mandir.

VHP President Sudarshan Shende; MLC Girish Vyas; Vishram Jamdar, Girish Deshmukh, Anup Gupta, Shripad Risaldar, Prashant Titare, Prant Mantri, Ajay Nildawar; Hemant Jambhekar and the members of Shrikrishna Janmotsav Shobhayatra Samiti including President Manish Malani; Working President Pradeep Basal; Vice President Dr Rajesh Murkute; Rajkumar Sharma, Niranjan Risaldar, Amit Bembi, Manish Mourya, Bhaiyaji Choube, Sanket Ambekar, Vishal Punj, Mohan Dikondawar, Sachin Shukla Ashvin Joshi and others were also present.
