IG Singh reviews law and order arrangements

Inspector General of Police (Jabalpur Zone), Anant Kumar Singh chaired a meeting to review the preparations for maintaining law and order situation during forthcoming festivals, on Monday.

Deputy Inspector General of Police (Jabalpur), Bhagwat Singh Chouhan, Superintendent of Police, Amit Singh, gazetted
officers and SHOs of urban and rural police stations attended
the meeting.

Addressing the meeting, IG, Anant Kumar Singh reviewed preparations for maintaining law and order arrangements during forthcoming festivals like Ganesh Utsav, Moharram and Durga Utsava. He directed the officers for ensuring the implementation of law and order situation during the festivals and cancelled the leave applications of power officers. Special attention must be paid in suspected areas of group clashes and other disputes in the district. Peaceful festivals celebration is the responsibility of police and officers should ensure strict implementation on orders received from police headquarters.

IG Singh instructed the officers for preparing a separate record to register election related complaints. Police should review stock of arms and weapons with arms dealers through joint inspection with SDM and Tehsildar to implement norms. Officers should ensure apprehension of warrantees on priority basis and conducting bond-over of listed criminals and anti-social elements. He directed the officers for paying special attention in areas where clashes reported in past years and strengthening their information network for taking preventive action in case of any kind of agitation. Senior police officers along with gazetted officers should conduct visit in sensitive areas for better implementation of law and order arrangements. Policemen should check drunken driving with breath analyser at fixed points and ensure availability of Balwa drill materials, tear gas, video camera and PA system to avert any nuisance during the festival.
