Two men kidnap 9-month-old boy

Two bike-borne men wearing black clothes and caps abducted a nine-month-old boy telling his father that they are celebrating the festival and need the child for the role of Lord Krishna and after clicking his picture after dressing him like Krishna.

The incident took place in Vajpayee Nagar area under Shahjahanabad police station in the city late on Monday night.

While the city was celebrating Janmashtami, the incident left the family of the child, Shiva, baffled. The accused could not be traced till the time of filing this report, but police claimed they moved towards Lalghati area, on the basis of CCTV inputs but the footages in which accused were seen along with kid were not clear.

According to SHO Shahjahanabad Udai Singh Alaw, the complainant Rakesh Dhodiyar (25) had come to city seeking job 15-days back and here he lives with his wife and kid in a slum near 108 ambulance service office at Idgal Hills, Vajpayee Nagar.

On Monday it was at around 11 pm when two persons arrived on a bike and told him that they are celebrating the festival nearby and need a child for dressing as Lord Krishna.

One of the accused came to him and after the conversation
told that Rakesh will also accompany him to which they agreed. However, as soon as he handed over the child, Shiva, the duo escaped on their bike even before he could raise an alarm. Later, Rakesh filed a police complaint after which a case of abduction against unidentified men was registered. City Superintendent of Police (CSP) Shahjahanabad Nagendra Pateriya, when contacted, said that the accused had come recently from Jaora village of Ratlam district in search of work and fell prey to the trick of the accused. The family is living in a makeshift arrangement with a few others of their acquaintances in the area. We have filed a case and now searching for the accused, he added.
