BJP Chief Amit Shah meets Sant Prakash Muni for Sampark Samarthan campaign

Under the Sampark for Samarthan campaign of Bharatiya Janata Party, BJP National President Amit Shah along with Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh paid a visit to Head of Kabir Panth Sant Prakash Muni Naam Saheb and sought his blessings. The meeting is stated to have wide political ramifications, although Prakash Muni termed it just a courtesy meeting.


BJP National President Amit Shah, who came to Chhattisgarh, to launch the Atal Vikas Yatra, soon after reaching capital, reached the residence of the Head of Kabir Panth Sant Prakash Muni Naam Saheb here in KatoraTalab, and felicitated him with shawl and shrifal.
On the occasion, the BJP President gave him booklets based on achievements of the incumbent BJP government in last 15 years and schemes being implemented for the welfare of people. Both the BJP National President and the Chief Minister sought his blessings as ‘Guru Mantra’ for BJP, so that it comes to power for the fourth consecutive time in the state.


During the meeting, which continued for over 15 minutes, Speaker Gaurishankar Agrawal, BJP State In charge Dr Anil Jain, Agriculture Minister Brijmohan Agrawal and MLA Shivratan Sharma were also present. If the political ramifications of this meeting are considered it has huge influence on the other backward classes.


Head of Kabir Panth Sant Prakash Muni Naam Saheb, born in 1967, took charge as the Head of Kabir Panth in 1990 and is enthroned as the 15th Acharya of Damakheda. It is being stated that Sant Prakash Muni Naam Saheb has direct influence over 52 percent Other Backward Class population in Chhattisgarh.


The Kabir Panth has huge influence among backward classes in Chhattisgarh communities like Sidar, Dhimar, Ahir, Lodhi, Kumhar, Rawat, Patwa, Sahu, Vaishya, Kurmi, Koshta and Manikpuri are mostly their followers. Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh enjoys good relations with Sant Prakash Muni and seek his blessings. This was the reason why the BJP government had renamed Kawardha as Kabirdham as there is huge influence of Kabir Panth in the district. The Chief Minister has been regular to attend the famous Damkheda Mela and seeking blessings of Prakash Muni. Earlier, the Bharatiya Janata Party had even tried to convince Sant Prakash Muni for Rajya Sabha berth on behalf of the party but he had declined the offer.


Later talking to the media after the meeting, Sant Prakash Muni said he had come to know about the meeting only yesterday evening. When queried whether any political discussions were held, he said nothing of the sort had taken place. The meeting was for a very short time and they sought his best wishes and he had extended it to them. When asked about the political ramifications, the Guru said he is unable to comment on that as he doesn’t represent any political party in particular and people from different walks of life come to meet him. He reiterated that he has personal relations with different political leaders but personally he’s not connected to any political party. Sant Prakash Muni further added that he follows Kabir Panth - Sabki Mange Khair and he extends his best wishes to people coming to him and all.
