40 other teachers also honoured in the programme

As many as 45 teachers of the state were honoured with various State Awards for the year 2018, during a programme organised at Raj Bhawan, on the occasion of Teachers’ Day on Wednesday. While five teachers were honoured with Rajya Shikshak Samman Smriti Puraskar 2018, 40 teachers were honoured with Rajya Stariya (state level) Shikshak Samman Puraskar 2018.


Chhattisgarh Assembly Speaker Gaurishankar Agrawal, School Education Minister Kedar Kashyap and Parliamentary Secretary Ambesh Jangde honoured the teachers by presenting them with shawl, shriphal and citation for their contribution to the education in the state. School Education Secretary Gaurav Dwivedi was also present.


Smriti Puraskar recipients were also given cash award of Rs 50,000 each while the remaining 40 teachers were given cash award of Rs 21,000 each.


Smriti Samman recipient teachers are Rajkumar Verma, Seema Shrivastav, Narendra Kumar Tiwari, Neelima Thakur and Siyar Malviya.


The teachers felicitated with State level award are Deepti Gupta, Krishna Kumar Dhurandhar, Nasir Khan, Bhushan Sahu, Tika Das Maravi, Bhupendra Sharma, Santosh Kumar Sahu, Chamanlal Chandrakar, Dhanaram Deshmukh, Sanjay Martin, Santosh Verma, Hitesh Diwan, Dinesh Chandra Khatri, Ramdular Prajapati, Brijesh Pandey, Prisca Kujur, Shailabala Karan, Surendra Kumar Mishra, Shivprasad Kaushik, Jaymangal Dhruw, Jagannath, Pila Singh Chouhan, Mohan Banjare, Vinod Singh Bhadoria, Gangaram Kashyap, Sudama Prasad Mishra, Pavitra Mohan Behera, Ashok Kumar Mishra, B K Adbhaiya, Garib Ram Mandavi, Churamani Verma, Inuram Verma, Ravindranath Karmahe, Kamleshwar Singh, Seemanchal Tripathi, K D Dewangan, Ratanlal Baghel, Sitaram Sahu, Jagdish Deshmukh and Bhanu Prakash.


The guests on the occasion released a book on ideals of Mahatma Gandhi, christened ‘Nayee Talim’. The book has been published by the NCERT.


It is worthwhile to mention, the felicitation programme was postponed earlier owing to the demise of Governor Balramji Dass Tandon. However, the Education Department later decided to hold the programme on Teachers’ day while keeping it simple. Governor Anandi Ben Patel and CM Dr Raman Singh could not attend the programme due to unavoidable reasons.
