Absconding accused booked for in looting, manhandling nabbed

Acting on a tip-off, Morwa police arrested an absconding accused in a loot case and also who manhandled Forest Department’s woman range and beat guard. The absconding had fled to Punjab and was nabbed in possession of country made revolver and ammunition. According to information, the accused, Deepak Ramesh Basore (19), resident of Maudauli, was arrested from main road Naudiya along with country made revolver and ammunition and was booked under section 353, 332, 186, 354, 394, 395, 431, 294, 506, 147, 148, 34 of IPC. The accused was involved in loot incidents and was also accused of manhandling Forest Department’s woman range and beat guard. For past two months, he was reportedly absconding and had crossed over the state and had gone to Punjab.


An informer gave a tip-off at Gorbi police post and SI Uday Chandra Karihar informed the Morwa police station about the suspected presence of the accused near main road Naudiya. Acting on the information, a team was constituted under the direction of SP Rioyaz Iqbal, ASP Pardeep Shindey and SDOP Dr Kripashankar Diwedi. The team headed by SHO Narendra SIngh Raghuvanshi reached the spot and apprehended the accused. Cops seized country made revolver and ammunition found in possession of the accused. He was booked under section 25, 27 of Arms Act and was produced before court which sent him to prison. The support offered by the police team comprising of SI Udya Chandra Karihar, ASI Suresh SIngh, Anil Mishra, Anup Mishra, Jitendra SIngh Sengar, Rajmani SIngh and Pardeep proved of substance in the operation.
