Akhand Brahman Samaj demands to amend SC and ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act

RAIPUR

A delegation of Akhand Brahman Samaj (ABS) Chhattisgarh unit submitted a memorandum addressed to President of India Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi through the district administration on Thursday, demanding to amend the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Amendment Act.


ABS State President Yogesh Tiwari and Secretary Dr Bhavesh Shukla Parasar informed that the people from upper castes are annoyed after overturning a Supreme Court’s order concerning certain safeguards against arrest under the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act by the Parliament.


The ABS demanded to rollback the amended Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act and no change should be made in the Supreme Court’s order.
Pt Balmukund Sharma, Dr Umesh Mishra, Kamlesh Tiwari, Gaurav Dubey, Sudhir Murthi, Dilip Jha, Alok Dwivedi, Ashish Sharma, Bhawanishankar Sharma, Rupendra Dubey, Madhusudan Sharma and others were part of the delegation.
