CM Chouhan performs bhoomipujan of Irrigation Scheme worth Rs 282.95 cr

CHIEF Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan performed bhoomipujan of 5 Micro Lift Irrigation projects worth Rs 283 crore at Stadium Ground of Punasa-Khandwa. Along with this, he also dedicated 80 km Punasa-Kannod road worth Rs 170 crore. Moreover, Chouhan also performed bhoomipujan of Higher Secondary School of Bangarda and Punasa.


It is to highlighted that 7195 hectare land of Punasa tehsil of Khandwa district will get benefit of micro irrigation through this innovative project by supplying Narmada water to this irrigation deprived area from canals of Narmada valley. Chief Minister Chouhan performed bhoomipujan of Killod, Bhurlay, Pamakhedi, Kodwar and Punasa extension Micro Lift Irrigation Group Scheme at Punasa. Under this combined schemes water will be lifted up to 45 meter height at 3.56 cubic meter per second capacity from Indira Sagar Reservoir near Ambakhal village for Kilod Scheme. Similarly, under Bhurlay Scheme, water will be lifted up to 42 meter height at 0.53 cubic meter per second capacity from Indira Sagar Reservoir near Hanuvantiya village. In the same manner, under Pamakhedi Scheme, water will be lifted up to 34 meter height at 0.38 cubic meter per second capacity from Indira Sagar Reservoir near Daang village. Under Kodwar Scheme, water will be lifted up to 73 meter height at 1.30 cubic meter per
second capacity under 2 stage from main canal RD 13 km of Indira Sagar Project. Members of Parliament Nand Kumar Singh Chouhan and Subhash Patel along with MLA Lokendra Singh Tomar were present in the programme. Micro Irrigation Scheme to be based completely on pipeline: Under Punasa Extension Scheme, water will be lifted up to 26 meter height at 0.35 cubic meter per second capacity from Punasa lift irrigation scheme reservoir no. 1 near Chandel village. Water distribution system under these schemes will be totally based on pipelines. Special feature of the scheme is that farmers will get 20 meter pressurised water at each 2.50 acre area through underground pipeline. Farmers could avail benefit of sprinkler or drip irrigation system by this scheme. Under this group scheme, 7,195 hectare area of 32 villages of Punasa tehsil will benefit of irrigation.
