Woman Naxal involved in massacre of 31 Congress leaders surrenders

In a major achievement, a woman Naxalite involved in Jeeram Ghati mayhem in which 31 Congress leaders were massacred, surrendered here on Thursday. The outlaw, a section commander of Platoon No-24, carried Rs 8 lakh reward on her head.  The extremist was identified as Hidme alias Madkami Gangi, who impressed with the rehabilitation policy of Chhattisgarh Government and fed up with the hollow ideology of Naxalism, surrendered.

The woman outlaw had joined Naxal organisation in 2010. She was involved in the Jeeram ghati incident which occurred on May 25, 2013. She had fired 31 rounds from her gun. In this dastardly act, 31 Congress leaders were eliminated. She was also involved in the attack on CISF party in Kirandul in 2012, in which 6 personnel were martyred. In 2014, she was involved in the killing of Vaman Kowasi , resident of Chiurwada under Tongpal police station suspecting him to be police informer.

In 2015, she was also involved in the killing of Sarpanch Pandu Baghel in Koleng in Bastar district of Chhattisgarh.  The woman outlaw was also involved in an encounter in Jeeram in Darbha region, in which a STF platoon commander was martyred. The extremist had been keeping a distance from Naxal activities for a year due to her child.
Dantewada SP Abhishek Pallava attributed this achievement to Bastar Range IG Vivekanand Sinha and Deputy IG Ratan Lal Dangi, on whose directions anti-Naxal operation was launched. The woman outlaw was given Rs 10,000 encouragement amount.
