The BJP National Working Committee apart from reviewing the implementation of routine party prgrammes will put special focus on activities in the poll bound states of Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan where Assembly General Elections are due in November-December. Since all these three states are governed by BJP led state governments, the party will leave no table unturned to ensure that it comes to power in all these three states again for the fourth consecutive time. Hence the meeting will focus on finalizing election strategy for these states as well.

The BJP National Working Committee has been called in two sessions. The first session meeting will be attended by all National office-bearers, state in chages and deputy in charges, state general secretaries (organization), etc. The meeting will review the implementation of party programmes in respective states. Talking to media persons on Saturday at Swami Vivekananda Airport, ahead of living of New Delhi, Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh said during the meeting presentation of government’s works and election preparations will be made. He said the main agenda of the meeting will be Assembly general elections. He further added that it is likely that discussions might be held with the National President and other senior leaders regarding ticket allocations and candidate selections.

According to senior national level BJP leaders, this is the first time when the BJP National Working Committee is meeting without former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Otherwise, despite his acute illness, when the former Prime Minister was alive, the feeling of his presence was always there. It was only due to his guidance that party could achieve such heights today.
The BJP National Working Committee meeting commenced with the opening speech of BJP National President Amit Shah. It is expected that Shah will focus his speech on issues pertaining to backward classes.

This is one of the reasons why the meeting is held at Ambedkar International Centre, so that a message can be deciphered. The meeting apart from discussing issues pertaining to farmers will also rake up issues pertaining to foreign affairs and arrest of urban Naxal sympathizers and its outcome.
