Bookie held red-handed

Gorakhpur police nabbed a bookie red-handed when he was taking bookings of satta and seized Rs 9,310 cash from him on Tuesday. The accused has been identified as Shyamlal Prajapati (30), a resident of Patel Mohalla, Rampur. SHO of Gorakhpur police station Umesh Tiwari informed that acting on a tip-off, police team started search and nabbed the accused Shyamlal Prajapati when he was taking satta bookings. In his search, police team seized Rs 9,310 cash, a mobile handset and record of bookings from him. SHO Umesh Tiwari informed that in further investigation, police found that the arrested accused is a habitual criminal and has already been booked in nine cases of gambling and attack in Gorakhpur.

Police have started preventive action against the accused. Gorakhpur police have registered a case under Section 4 A of the Gambling Act.
