The kin of 30-year-old man, who died in a road accident on Monday night, staged protest at BHEL Jubli Gate near the Piplani police station on Wednesday. They were demanding stern action against the Xylo XUV 500 driver who crushed the deceased Dharmendra Singh whose motorbike was hit by the SUV vehicle.


The deceased’s kin were demanding stern action against the accused contractor Wazeer alias Baba Ali of Nizamuddin Colony for rash driving that killed the man who was about to get married in the last week of this month.


According to local Corporator Girish Sharma, the deceased Dharmendra, a resident of Indrapuri, worked as sales executive in Mahindra showroom was the sole bread earner of his family and that they wanted immediate compensation from the district administration to his family.He said that the accused too should book for the crime as cops arrested him two days after the accident. Piplani SHO Rakesh Shrivastava said that we have arrested the accused and have booked him under relevant sections of IPC. He said that the locals were demanding speed breaker and other arrangements to curb the speed of vehicles.

Notably on Monday night, bike-borne Dharmendra Singh was hit and dragged for 100 meters by an SUV at a turn in Indrapuri area of Piplani while he was returning home after distributing wedding cards of him, resulting in his death on the spot on Monday night. He was engaged recently and was going to get married after 19 days. The incident took place at around 11 pm on Monday while he was returning home riding his Pulsar bike after giving his wedding cards to relatives when Xylo SUV hit his bike from behind and in a bid to escape from the spot, the four-wheeler dragged man for several meters resulting in his death.
