Man held for defaming wife on FB with fake account

STATE Cyber Police Zone Jabalpur nabbed a man for creating fake Facebook account of his own wife and trying to defame her on Wednesday. The accused has been identified as Anurag Pyasi, son of Jaikishore Pyasi, a resident of Gully No-10, Siddharth Nagar, Kolgavan in Satna district.
Under the direction of Special Director General of Police (Cyber) Aruna Mohan Rao and Additional Director General of Police Rajesh Gupta, State Cyber Police started a campaign against those involved in IT crime under the supervision of SP Cyber Police Zone Jabalpur Sudip Goinka.

During the campaign, a woman filed a written complaint that an unidentified person used her name and photo and created a fake Facebook account and posting vulgar information about her in social media.  Taking a serious note on the complaint, State Cyber Police Zone Jabalpur registered a case under Section 66C of IT Act and started investigations into the case.

Investigating the case, Cyber Police succeeded in apprehending the accused named Anurag Pyasi who confessed to have created his wife’s fake profile to defame her after a dispute with her. The accused was arrested with active efforts of police team led by Inspector Hariom Dixit comprising Sub Inspector Roshni Narre, constables Vikas Kumar, Amit Gupta and Woman Constable Ankita.
