Absconding murder accused held, co-accused still at large

Ashoka Garden police have nabbed an 18-year-old teenage boy, who along with his friends, stabbed a youth to death at Prabhat Square on January 6 as he was in relationship with accused’s childhood love. Accused was nabbed from ISBT on Wednesday evening.


The accused has been identified as Ritesh Thakur alias Ram, 18, son of Sanjay Singh, who hails from Sagar district and here he is living in Rachna Nagar area of Govindpura and is preparing for competitive exams. He was arrested by the police after receiving information about him in the evening from ISBT, Govindpura area when he came to Bhopal from Khurai, Sagar to meet his friends. The deceased, Ajay Dubey, was in relationship with the girl for long time while the accused was in love with that girl from school time.


The reason behind the murder was friendship with Ajay and when he saw her with him, he told her to mend her ways but she continued to meet which frustrated her and he decided to kill Ajay.


On the day of the murder when the accused, with the help of friends, informed the deceased to meet and talk over the issue and unaware of their ill-intentions deceased arrived at the spot and during the discussion accused went violent and along with his friends he attacked the deceased with knife and stabbed him in his neck. Injured Ajay was taken to National Hospital in a car by Ritesh and Yash Mishra where he was declared brought dead. Learning about his death, Ritesh fled from the hospital. A case under Section 302 of the IPC was registered against the accused and his accomplices.


During the investigation police found that the deceased was in relationship with the girl whom the accused used to love. The accused interacted with the deceased over Facebook to confirm their relationship which the deceased confirmed after which accused started to threaten him and on January 6 called deceased to meet near Prabhat Petrol pump square. The friends of the accused who helped him in the crime would be nabbed, police told.


Bike-borne miscreants rob girl near Tarun Pushkar
A 20-year-old college student, who also works as mehendi artist, was robbed of her purse carrying mobile phone, cash and other documents worth Rs 30,000 by two bike-borne miscreants near Prakash Tarun Pushkar under TT Nagar police station area in the evening on Wednesday. Both the accused bikers were caught on the CCTV camera but their faces are not clear in the footages.


TT Nagar police said the victim Sohaila Khan, 20, daughter of Mohammad Saleem, a resident of 01/21, Tulsi Nagar, was relieved of her purse near Prakash Tarun Pushkar swimming club when she was on her way to home in Tulsi Nagar on her scooter from New Market area. The incident took place when victim’s sister and mother were also with her on other two-wheeler while she was driving alone.They also tried to chase both the accused bikers till 1250 hospital but the miscreants managed to escape taking advantage of darkness. The victim then lodged a complaint with the TT Nagar police station. In her complaint, she stated that she was on her way after completing mehendi work at marriage ceremony and when she reached near Prakash Tarun Pushkar swimming pool, she was attacked by two bike-borne miscreants who snatched her purse.

A shocked victim raised an alarm but the miscreants managed to escape. A Samsung J-7 mobile phone, Rs 3,800 cash and documents were in the purse. Based on the complaint after the preliminary investigation, the police registered a case under Section 392 of the IPC and have started further investigation.
