‘Lokrajya’ becomes the largest circulated magazine in country

‘LOKRAJYA’, the official monthly publication of Directorate General of Information and Public Relations (DGIPR), Government of Maharashtra, has broken all previous records of publication and circulation. The printing of the magazine for the month of January 2019 has touched the figure of 7,60,000 making it the largest printed and circulated magazine in the country.

Suresh Wandile, Editor of ‘Lokrajya’, told ‘The Hitavada’ during an informal chat that the Audit Bureau of Circulation had taken a note of this feat. “We are extremely proud and happy that the people of Maharashtra are loving the magazine,” he said. He pointed out that in the recent past, the DGIPR gave a new look ( presentation and content-wise) to its publications.

Apart from ‘Lokrajya’, it publishes ‘Maharashtra Ahead’ in English. Also, it has come up with ‘Maharashtra Varshiki’ yearbook, ‘Magnificent Maharashtra’ special book on Maharashtra for foreign dignitaries visiting the State, ‘Mahamanav’ comprising articles of dignitaries on ‘Bharat Ratna’ Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar’, ‘Maharashtra Aani Mahatma Gandhi’ comprising articles on Mahatma Gandhi’s presence in Maharashtra, and many others.

Directorate General of Information and Public Relations has set up a stall in the book exhibition pavilion at the 92nd Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Sahitya Sammelan. Radhakrishna Muli, Deputy Director, Amravati Division; Mangesh Warkad, Assistant Director, Gajanan Koturwar, Assistant Director; Rajesh Yesankar, District Information Officer, Yavatmal, visited the stall on Friday.
