5 peddlers held with smack, ganja in 3 cases

JABALPUR police team arrested five drug peddlers and seized 29 grams smack and 2 kilograms ganja from them in three different cases reported in Gohalpur, Belbagh and Sihora on Friday. Drug peddlers were apprehended during a special campaign started under direction of Superintendent of Police Amit Singh under supervision of Additional SP (City) Deepak Kumar Shukla, Additional SP (West) Rajesh Kumar Tripathi, Additional SP (South) Dr Sanjeev Uike, Additional SP (Rural) Dr Raisingh Narvaria and CSPs.

Acting on a tip-off, Gohalpur police started a search and succeeded in detaining a suspected woman named Priyanka Choudhary (23), wife of Vikas Choudhary, a resident of Lema Garden near EWS Quarters and seized 20 grams smack and Rs 5,200 cash from her. In further interrogation, the woman revealed that she purchased smack from a man named Raja Sonkar, a resident of Bhartipur.

Acting on the information, police started search and nabbed accused Raja Sonkar (35) and seized Rs 21,000 earned by selling narcotic substances. Gohalpur police have registered separate cases against the accused under Section 8/21 of NDPS Act. Accused were apprehended with active efforts of police team led by SHO Gohalpur Praveen Dhurve, Woman PSI, Shashikala Uike, ASI, Rajesh Pandey and Constable, Munna Lal. Similarly, Belbagh police received information about a man named Vishwas Sonkar (24), a resident of Khatik Mohalla, Ghamapur Chowk who was seen selling smack in a gully of Kanjar Mohalla in front of Akansha Hospital. Police started a search and trapped the identified man red-handed when he was selling small packets of smack.

Police team seized 8 packets of smack weighing around 9 grams worth Rs 80,000 from the accused. He was arrested by police team comprising SHO Belbagh, Dr Dinesh Joshi, SI, Satyanarayan Kushwaha, PSI, Prabhat Katare, Head Constable, Mahendra Shukla, constables Balgovind Sharma, Harshvardhan and Ajay Yadav. During the special campaign, Sihora police nabbed two motorcycle riders in Paudi village named Ehsanul Ansari (34) and Sanjay Lodhi (19), residents of Jamunia village in Katangi.

During search, policemen found ganja weighing around 2 kilograms from them. In further investigation, police learnt that a man named Rajju Patel of Katangi gave them ganja for selling against commission of Rs 500 each. Sihora police have registered a case against the accused under Section 8/21 of NDPS Act started a search for Rajendra alias Rajju Singh Lodhi. Drug peddlers were arrested with active working of police team led by SHO, Sihora, Mahendra Singh Chouhan comprising SI Satish Tiwari, constables Rammilan Rajak, Rajendra Patel and driver Shailendra Tiwari.
