Hawala racket busted, four men arrested with Rs 34.71 lakh cash

IN A major breakthrough, Omti police nabbed four men working in Hawala racket and seized Rs 34.71 lakh at Muskan Heights Complex, Napier Town, late in the night on Friday. Three of the arrested accused belong to Gujarat and one hails from Jabalpur.

The arrested men have been identified as Umashankar Singh (42), son of Tilak Singh, resident of Sahejpur village in Bhedaghat, Nitendra Singh (33), son of Manuji Chawda, resident of Vishnagar, Gujarat, Praveen Singh (31), son of Nabuji Chawda, resident of Vishnagar, Gujarat and Kishore (61), son of Moti, resident of Mehsana in Gujarat. SHO of Omti police station Neeraj Verma informed that continuing a special campaign police received information about some suspects working in Hawala network and senior officers were informed. Superintendent of Police Amit Singh (IPS) constituted a team under the supervision of ASP (City), Deepak Kumar Shukla and CSP, Omti Shashikant Shukla. 

Police team led by SHO Neeraj Verma comprising ASI Vinod Pathak, constables Pramod Soni, Mithilesh Shukla, Deepak Vishwakarma, Dharamji Pawar, Omkar and Head Constable, Hridaynarayan raided the identified flat situated at Muskan Heights, Napier Town. In the raid, police team seized Rs 34,71,800 cash from four men. Police have arrested the accused, while further investigations are underway to identify and apprehend other people working in Hawala racket. Police have seized Rs 2,98,800 from Umashankar, Rs 3,73,00 from Nitendra Singh, Rs 28,00,000 from Praveen Singh.
