STF, cops nab man with smack worth Rs 15.70L

A COMBINED team of Special Task Force (STF) Jabalpur and Kotwali police, Rajgarh, succeeded in apprehending a drug peddler and seized 157.17 grams smack worth Rs 15.70 lakh. The accused was trapped when he was delivering the consignment of smack from Jhalabad district of Rajasthan to Rajgarh district on a motorcycle.

The accused has been identified as Nanuram Tanwar (29), son of Madanlal Tanwar, a resident of Sarda village, Jhalabad district of Rajasthan. He was arrested in a case of NDPS Act in Narsinghpur and was released from jail a year ago. STF Jabalpur, Inspector, Hariom Dixit informed that on January 11, STF Constable Nirmal Singh received information about a man who left from Rajasthan for delivery of a narcotics consignment in Rajgarh district. Taking a serious note on the information, senior officers constituted a combined team of STF Jabalpur and Kotwali Police, Rajgarh. They started monitoring drug peddler and trapped him when he was passing through Jalpa Mata Mandir in Rajgarh.

Police team seized a Hero Honda motorcycle (RJ-17ST-2378) and smack weighting around 157.17 grams from the accused. Police have registered a case against the accused under Section 8/21 of NDPS Act, while further investigations are underway to identify and apprehend other members working in the network of narcotics trade.

The accused was apprehended by police team under the supervision of Additional SP Naval Singh Sisodhia, SDOP, Rajgarh, S P Ahirwar led by STF Jabalpur, ASI, Raghuveer Singh Sarote, constables Nirmal Singh Patel, Chatrapal Singh, Lekhan Singh Lodhi, Neelesh Dubey, Prabhat Singh, Jitendra Singh, Harshvardhan Tiwari, Anjani Pathak and Kotwali, Rajgarh’s SI, Ramvaran Meena, Head Constable, Ashok Kumar, constables Shadab Khan and Manoj Gujar.
