Mayor reviews civic body’s approach towards complaints of citizens

Mayor Nanda Jichkar reviewed the civic body’s approach towards complaints filed by citizens in Jan Samvad programme of Lakadganj Zone, Aashi Nagar zone and Mangalwari zone.

Replying to Mayor’s query, Health Department officer has informed in the meeting that NMC has taken action against Agriculture Produce Marketing Committee (APMC) for burning garbage. The civic body issued notice and also levied penalty of Rs 50,000 against it. The citizens of the zone lodged complaint against daily burning of garbage by the APMC. Several citizens lodged complaints about dumping of waste in open plots. Mayor directed to initiate action against them at the earliest. Some of the plots belongs to Nagpur Improvement Trust (NIT), Mayor directed to inform Trust officers about dumping of garbage on the plots.

She also took review of non-burning of street lights, potholes on the roads, and others. The residents of Aashi Nagar zone have demanded to construct a safety wall on Pili River. Mayor also instructed officers to take local corporators into confidence while taking decision in their areas.

Municipal Commissioner Abhijit Bangar, Deputy Leader Varsha Thakre, Women and Child Welfare Committee Chairperson Pragati Patil, Lakadganj Zone Chairman Deepak Wadibhasme, Aashi Nagar Zone Chairperson Vandana Chandekar, Mangalwari Zone Chairperson Sangita Girhe, corporator Manoj Sangole, Additional Commissioner Ram Joshi, Executive Engineers Sanjeev Jaiswal, Girish Wasnik, Health Officer Dr Sunil Kamble, Veterinary Officer Dr Gajendra Mahalle, Assistant Commissiners Ganesh Rathod, Subhash Jaideo, Harish Raut, Vijay Humane, Dr Vijay Joshi, Umredkar and others were present.
