Home Minister Tamradhwaj Sahu holds meeting with SPs, IGPs at Police Headquarters

Home Minister Tamradhwaj Sahu has instructed the police to develop a public friendly traffic system in the state. He said that police should work practically so that the people do not face any difficulty.  The minister was talking to media persons here on Wednesday. Traffic rules should be strictly followed in the state and action should be taken against the traffic rule violators, he added.

“Even if my vehicle violates traffic rule, traffic challan should be issued against me. VIP culture should be totally abolished in the state,” pointed the Home Minister.
Replying to a query on Naxal issue, Tamradhwaj Sahu said that the Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has already given a statement that the state government would discuss with the experienced police officers on the Naxal issue and action plan would be devised to combat this menace.
Earlier, the Home Minister held a meeting with Superintendents of Police and Inspector Generals of Police at Police Headquarters, Atal Nagar.

Director General of Police D M Awasthi, Director General R K Vij and Additional Director General of Police Arun Deo Gautam were also present in the meeting.
Addressing the meeting, the Home Minister said that police stations should be set up according to public’s demand in state. The people of the state are simple and humble by nature and the police can easily win the trust of the people by making little change in their behaviour and the people will pay respect to them, he pointed.

The Home Minister said that the new Congress government is committed to resolve the grievances of the police personnel and officers and there would be no dearth of funds. Funds would be allocated by the State government for all facilities like housing, he added.

DGP D M Awasthi also held a meeting with SPs, IGPs and commandants at the Police Headquarters.
Addressing SPs and commandants, DGP D M Awashi asked them to take action according to the rules and not work under any pressure. DG R K Vij and ADGP Arun Deo Gautam directed the SPs to execute the work plans of the police department in their respective districts on top priority.

Surguja IGP Himanshu Gupta, Bilaspur IGP Pradeep Gupta and Raipur IGP Deepanshu Kaabra informed in the meeting about the activities being carried out in their police ranges.
