Blind murder mystery solved, two arrested

With the arrest of two youths police have claimed to have solved the blind murder mystery on Wednesday. New Superintendent of Police Neethu Kamal informed media persons that two youths have been arrested in the matter and police has recovered ATM of deceased and his motor bike was recovered from their possession.

She informed that the incident took place on Sunday night when the accused identified as Naushad Ali (20) a resident of BSUP colony Mathpuraina and Akash Thakur (19) a resident of Tikrapara near Trimurty temple were under the influence of intoxication. They saw the deceased Prashant Shrivastava (40) a resident of Pachpedi Naka lying on the ground of Raisoni college and was heavily drunk.

With intention to steal money from his pocket the youth went close to him and tried to pick-pocket. The deceased Prashant who was under the influence of liquor tried to oppose. Irked by the oppose the youths reportedly hit him with a big stone on his head due to which the deceased succumbed to injuries.
She informed that the youth found Rs 400, ATM card and key of motor bike from the deceased. They shared Rs 200 each and kept his ATM card and took away the motorbike Bajaj Platina with registration number CG04/HK/3782. During investigation police came to know about the youth and with the help of technical analysis police cracked the case and both the accused were arrested. During interrogation they accepted their crime and police recovered ATM as well as motorbike from the residence of accused. Both were booked under Section 302 of IPC. prr2-38: (R) Both accused of murder in police custody.
