Farmers appeal officials to start survey of loss of crops due to frost

Naib Tehsildar gave updates that as per instructions patwaris have started survey work and will soon submit their report

FOLLOWING continuous dip in mercury in rural areas, standing crops are in grip of frost. In villages of Shahpura development block, Panagar and Bargi, farmers are in fear of frost-hit crops and losses.
A group of farmers from Shahpura visited Tehsildar office and demanded to initiate survey of losses incurred due to frost and hailstorm in the region. According to information in different villages of Shahpura development block including Umaria, Natwara, Bamhnod along with other adjoining villages, villagers visited Tehsildar office Shahpura and demanded a survey of damage caused to standing crops.


Farmer Bhupendra Singh informed that crops of vegetables as well as Greenpeas, Checkpea, Masoor are badly affected in the area due to frost. In a few villages, crops were totally damaged by frost. In this regard Tehsildar Rohit Verma informed that all the Patwaris in the area are engaged in survey of frost damage. In next two three days, Patwaris will submit their report called Girdwari.


From Belkheda, a group of farmers also visited Belkheda village. In this block also crops of vegetables as well as pulses are badly affected due to frost. In village Belkeda, Singapur, Ragola, Meregaon, Matanpur, Jhalon, Jamkhar, Maili, Bamori, Imalia, Kuda, Bijora, Sundradehi and others. In this regard, Naib Tehsildar gave updates that as per instructions patwaris have started survey work and will soon submit their report.
Farmers appealed to the district administration to look in to the matter and to redress problems being faced by farmers due to loss of crops due to frost and start survey of damage of crops and vegetables.


The standing crops are turning black due to frost. In this pulses crop of Arhar, Brinjal, Tomato and other vegetable crops are badly hit. Similarly in Bargi development crops are badly affected and farmers of Tinsi, Tinsa, Lodi, Rengajhori, Sukri and other areas are in trouble due continuos drop in temperature.
