Staff Reporter,

Congress party said that the law would take its course in connection with the Food and Civil Supplies scam and there will be no vindictive action against anyone in this matter.
Talking to mediapersons at Rajiv Bhawan here, Communication Department of Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee (CPCC) Chairman Shailesh Nitin Trivedi said this while reacting over the statement of BJP state President Dharamlal Kaushik that ‘Congress constituted a special investigation team (SIT) for taking revenge in connection with Food and Civil Supplies scam’. He set aside Kaushik’s statement as irrelevant. The SIT has been constituted to bring truth before public in the Food and Civil Supplies scam, he added.

Shailesh Nitin Trivedi said that the people of the state ousted BJP from power and now the law would take its own course. The Congress fulfilled its poll promises made in its election manifesto to investigate the Food and Civil Supplies scam. During the election campaign, the Congress party had raised the issue of the Food and Civil Supplies scam, he added.
Trivedi alleged that several crores of money was embezzled in the Chhattisgarh State Civil Supplies Corporation Limited and the then BJP government had not conducted the investigation in the right perspective.

BJP State President Dharamlal Kaushik’s statement was totally irrelevant and he gave this statement under pressure. The Congress government decided to constitute the SIT, headed by an officer of the rank of Inspector General of Police (IGP), to inquire into the Food and Civil Supplies scam. In the investigation, the names of many big wigs may come to fore, he added. The people, who were involved in the scam, will be punished if they are found guilty, he added.  Spokesmen Sushil Anand Shukla, Dhananjay Singh Thakur, Gyanesh Sharma and Ghanshyam Raju Tiwari were also present at the
press conference.
