Sunny days weaken cold wave

Sunny days have weakened the bone biting cold conditions, but still, cold is giving tough time to people. Cold was intense in some parts of State. For instance, Umaria, Mandla, Khajuraho and Naugaon reeled under cold wave. The lowest minimum temperature of 3 degrees Celsius was recorded in Khajuraho.

In the meantime, Weather Department forecast that cold wave is likely in some parts of Mandla, Umaria, Chhattarpur districts. In last twenty-four hours, weather conditions remained dry. Bright days have resulted into rise in mercury level in districts of Hoshangabad and Gwalior divisions respectively. Bhopal shivered at minimum temperature of 8.8 degrees Celsius, 1 degree below normal level. Its maximum temperature settled down at 27.8 degrees Celsius, 4 degrees above normal. Jabalpur’s minimum temperature dropped to 6 degrees Celsius, 3 degrees below normal.

Its maximum temperature was 26.8 degrees Celsius. Gwalior recorded minimum temperature at 5.9 degrees Celsius, while Indore’s minimum temperature soared to 11 degrees Celsius, 2 degrees above normal. Weather conditions are expected to remain same for next twenty four hours. The local forecast for Bhopal says that city would experience clear sky and dry weather conditions. Minimum temperature would hover around 9 degrees Celsius. Weather Department’s duty officer told that wind pattern, which was south easterly during morning hours, turned northerly during evening hours. This means that mercury level is expected to go down once again. Notably, for more than a fortnight, intense cold is giving harrowing time to people in State. Cold wave swept most parts of the State. The biting cold literally threw normal life out of gear. It was only for the past one or two days that people got some respite from cold due to sunny days.
