NABARD’s conducts State-level workshop on ACABC Scheme

NATIONAL Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), Chhattisgarh Regional Office conducted state-level workshop on AgriClinic and AgriBusiness Centre (ACABC) in partnership with Indira Gandhi Krishi Vidyalay (IGKV), Raipur on last Friday. The workshop was attended by officials from MANAGE, Chhattisgarh Biotechnology Promotion Society, Directorate of Marketing and Inspection (DMI)- Raipur, commercial banks, prospective agri-preneurs and budding start-ups.


In his keynote address, Officer In-charge of NABARD Awadhesh Kumar highlighted the importance of credit linkage in implementation of government sponsored schemes like ACABC and AMI sub scheme of Integrated Scheme for Agriculture Marketing (ISAM). Further, he elaborated on agriculture extension services, technology transfer and its impact on farmers.


Speaking on the occasion, Vice-Chancellor of IGKV Dr Sanjay Kumar Patil briefed about IGKV’s role in developing the start-up ecosystem in Chhattisgarh. The workshop included presentations on Agricultural Marketing Infrastructure (AMI) sub-scheme of ISAM and AgriClinic and AgriBusiness Centre (ACABC) made by officials from DMI and MANAGE respectively.


During the workshop, a platform was provided for prospective agripreneurs and budding startups to present their proposals in front of bankers. This interface will help in resolving  some of the bottlenecks in credit linkage. Bankers assured that good proposals will be considered positively after techno financial appraisal.
