Staff Reporter,

Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya (RGPV) wrote the principals and directors of approved research centre regarding submission of six monthly progress reports of PhD scholars.
The university said, as per clause 15 of Ordinance no 11, the university will obtain every six months a record of attendance, receipt of fee paid and progress report of the work of the research scholars from his supervisor, which will be scrutinised by the Dean of the concerned faculty. If the progress of the work is not found satisfactory in two successive reports or no reports are received for a period of one year or candidate fails to deposit fees, the Kulpati, on the recommendation of the Dean of the faculty, may order the removal of the name of the scholar from the list of those registered for the PhD degree.

The university said, it is observed that the supervisors are not sending the six monthly progress reports of the PhD scholars in time. Generally, they are sending the progress reports of their candidate altogether after the telephonic requests from the PhD section.

RGPV said, all the concerned principals and directors are requested to ask the supervisors of the PhD scholars of institutes to submit the six monthly progress reports along with all supporting documents immediately after the completion of six months. The PhD scholars should note that if the progress report of their research work is not received in time from their respective supervisors, necessary action will be initiated against them as per the ordinance.
