Weather comfortable in most parts

People living in Khajuraho, Mandla and Naugaon are having a torrid time owing to persistent cold wave conditions. However, weather conditions in other parts remained at comfortable level. Minimum temperatures of Chambal division were above normal level.


Minimum temperatures of districts in Hoshangabad, Ujjain, Shahdol division remained below normal level. The lowest minimum temperature of 3 degrees Celsius was recorded in Khajuraho. Bhopal shivered at minimum temperature of 9.2 degrees Celsius, 1 degree below normal. Its maximum temperature was 26.4 degrees Celsius, 2 degrees above normal level.


Jabalpur recorded minimum temperature at 7.4 degrees Celsius, 2 degrees below normal. Its maximum temperature was 25 degrees Celsius, 1 degree above normal. Indore’s minimum temperature was 9.8 degrees Celsius, 1 degree above normal. Gwalior’s minimum temperature surged to 6.3 degrees Celsius and it was at normal mark. Wind pattern is changing in State. Sometimes, it becomes south easterly and sometimes, it is north easterly. Moreover, there is cloud factor in north west parts of State. This is the reason that temperatures have surged in State. But there is chance that mercury level may go down again after January 8. It is likely that State may come under attack of another cold wave after some days.


As of now, temperatures are on rising trend and are likely to remain at same point. Currently, sunny days are giving comfortable time to people and they are also enjoying the bright days. Then also, cold is strong enough to force people to put on warm clothes even during day time.


The past few days have been really tough as during this time, intense cold threw normal life out of gear and even broke records of many years. The change in weather conditions has provided a huge relief from biting cold. Life is limping back towards normalcy in most parts of State.
