Crackdown on gambling den continues, 9 people, including 2 women, held

IN YET another major crackdown on gambling den, a joint team of Crime Branch along with CSP Garha Hansraj Singh trainee (IPS) Ravindra Verma trainee IPS, SHO Omti Neeraj Verma, Chandrabhan Chaudhary and Jageshwari raided a location at Ranital in front of Smitha Griha Udyog. Cops have arrested 9 miscreants that includes two women, wives of two accused of promoting satta in the region.

Apparently, miscreants have adopted a new stance by making optimal use of women to shield themselves. In the raid, cops seized Rs 21,600, 13 mobile sets and satta patti worth over lakhs, one air pistol knife, CCTV installed on the spot, liquor bottles and other things. The operation was carried out after Additional SP (City) Deepak Kumar Shukla on being informed about operation of satta racket by an informer pressed in service instructed subordinate staff to crack whip against host of miscreants inviting bids from gamblers. According to information, in another major crack down against anti-social elements promoting gambling and satta racket. A team joint team comprising Crime Branch along with CSP Garha Hansraj Singh trainee (IPS) Ravindra Verma trainee IPS, SHO Omti Neeraj Verma, Chandrabhan Chaudhary and Jageshwari raided a spot at Ranital.

The special team found miscreants encouraging people for satta. Surprised on being surrounded by police team, the miscreants surrendered meekly and were brought to police station. The satta racket is an outcome of family collaboration of two women members of Raikwar family named Seema Raikwar (34), wife of Sudhir alias Siddhu Raikwar and Aarti Raikwar (30), wife of Nikku Raikwar, have been apprehended along with other miscreants.

Miscreants apprehended by the police team have been identified as Sudhir alias Siddhu Raikwar his wife Seema Raikwar (34), Aarti Raikwar (30), wife of Nikku Raikwar, all residents of Ranital, along with Jagmohan Soni, Bhagwandas Patel, Sacchidanand Sharma, Anant Ram Bajpaiee, Ramesh Prasad Shriwas (70), Ratan Kewat (64). The joint police team and Crime Branch comprising CSP Garha Hasraj Singh trainee (IPS) Ravindra Verma trainee IPS, SHO Omti Neeraj Verma, Chandrabhan Chaudhary and Jageshwari and others will be given cash reward by SP Jabalpur.
