7 tractor trolleys seized during raid at illegal sand mining site

A COMBINED team of Police and Mining Department raided illegal excavation of sand in Jhalone village under jurisdiction of Belkhera police station late in the night on January 5. Additional SP (Rural) Dr Raisingh Narvaria informed that continuing the campaign against illegal mining activities, police received information about illegal sand mining in Jhalone village.

Taking prompt action on the information, senior officers were informed and a combined team of police and District Mining Department raided the identified spot. In the raid, those involved in illegal excavation of sand and its loading on tractor trolleys started running away from the spot. Police team seized seven tractor trolleys and a pokland machine from the spot.

Meanwhile, a tractor trolley owner tried to oppose the police team in seizing tractor trolley and argued and abused officers and managed to escape from the spot. Acting on written complaint of Mining Inspector Devendra Patle (39), a resident of Belkhera, Belkhera police have registered a case against the accused Ravindra Singh. He charged that the accused named Ravindra Singh hindered Government Department’s work. Belkhera police have registered a case under sections 186, 294, 341 and 353 of the IPC and started search for the accused.
