Colourful creativity blooms at mega drawing contest by The Hitavada Twinkle Club, SFS School Old Boys’ Assn

Taking tender steps, a three year old Zaman walked out excitedly just to show his mother, a fish, a fruit and a flower drawn by him. The child’s excitement made the parents more happy and of course made other people smiled too. Not just Zaman but thousands of children portrayed the best of their imagination and blended it well with different tinge of colours at the mega Inter-school drawing contest organised by The Hitavada Twinkle Club in association with SFS School Old Boys’ Association (OBA) on Sunday morning.


The drawing and painting contest which was conducted in memory of Late Irfan Hussain, was held at SFS School, Sadar. Nearly 2000 students participated in the contest.
The competition was held among three different groups- Group A (Class I to Class III), Group B (Class IV to Class VII) and Group C Class VII to Class X). A special group for the kindergarten children was also organised in the event. Different groups were given different topics.  Participants of Group A portrayed on either of two topics, water world or favourite toy. One could see different shades of water and water animals beautifully drawn by the students up-to age 8 year old.


Participants of Group B depicted their thoughts on either of two topics, India of My Dreams and My National Hero while Group C sketched and painted their creativity on either of the  topics, Metro City Nagpur and Swachh Bharat.  Many participants presented metro city using pencil sketching while some draw India map and people belonging to different states spreading the message of ‘Swachha Bharat’.  The contestants were allotted two hours complete their drawing followed by a prize distribution in the school campus.


Mansoor Hussain, Father of Late Irfan Hussain, was present as the chief guest. Rizwan Hussain, brother of Late Irfan Hussain was special guest.
The competition was judged by many art teachers from different schools, colleges and institution. The judges included Pooja Marshettiwar from St. John’s Public School, Manjusha Ingle from Hillfort School, Vandana Tandon from Fable Castle, Yogesh Barahate from Keshav Nagar High School, Abdul Gafar from Government College of Arts and Design, Abhishek Chaurasia from Edify School and Shafagat Hussain, Cartoonist from The Hitavada.


From each group, three winners were announced. From Group A, Bhavya Tahilani from CPS Katol Road won the first prize, Kavya Meshram and Ishani Chaurasiya, both from Sandipani School, Hazaripahad won second and third prize respectively. From Group B, Rituraj Madne from Sandipani School, Hazaripahad, Sanchita Motiyani from Swami Narayan School and Nishta Santoshwar from Sandipani School, Hazaripahad won the first, second and third prize respectively.


From Group C, Palak Agrawal from Bhavan’s Bhagwandas Purohit Vidya Mandir, Civil Lines won the first prize, Homeshwani Baitalwar from DPS School, Koradi won second prize while Akruti Rathi from Centre Point School, Wardhaman Nagar won third prize. From Kindergarten group- Ayushi Thakur won the first prize, Aaliya Pote won second, Chitranshi Wankhede won third, Shreya Borkade won fourth while Akshara Hingankar won fifth prize.


The Rolling Trophy was won by Sandipani School, Hazaripahad. Totla 69 prizes were distributed.  The event was volunteered by 40 NCC cadets and 30 people from ‘Brain in 8’.  Arunpal Singh Behel, President, SFS School Old Boys’ School Association, Dr Manohar Roy, Mohammad Sufia, Razmin Chinoy, Pankaj Agrawal, Jaspal Arora, Yusuf Topiwala, Tyronne Mendonca, Malcolm Lavoc, Indrajeet Bhalla and Muzaheed Malla and The Hitavada PR team worked hard to make the event successful.
