Staff Reporter,

Members from both BJP and Congress created chaos in
the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly on Monday immediately after Governor Anandiben Patel completed her speech and left for Raj Bhawan.  When BJP members expressed their concern over the safety of legislative members and the Assembly alleging that some Congress members reached the main gate of the House to stage a demonstration despite imposition of Section 144, Congress members in the House demanded resignation of MLA Ajay Chandrakar.

Some Congress workers holding placards staged demonstration outside the gate of Assembly and demanded resignation of Ajay Chandrakar who had announced that he will resign if Congress implements the loan waiver within ten days. Congress workers reached the Assembly on Monday and shouted slogans against Chandrakar demanding his resignation.

BJP members raised the issue in the House alleging Congress of sheltering instead of taking action against party workers for violation of Section 144. Chandrakar raised objections over such incident in the House and urged Speaker Charandas Mahant for action. Chandrakar was joined by BJP MLA Brijmohan Agrawal, Shivratan Sharma and Jogi Congress MLA Dharamjeet Singh.

In response, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ravindra Choubey tried to pacify the matter, but BJP MLAs kept on demanding action. In the meantime, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel intervened and asked the BJP members why were they in such a hurry? On it, Leader of Opposition Dharamlal Kaushik took a dig at Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel for entering in the debate on the issue.
Finally, Speaker Charandas Mahant assured the House that he will summon the officials on security duty and take necessary measures.
