Congress Govt in State invites ire for stopping pension of Misa Bandis

“Congress Party is playing cheap politics by stopping the pension of Misa Bandis to take political revenge. Around 1,800 to 2,000 Misa Bandi were being given monthly pension upto Rs 25,000 in Madhya Pradesh and families of most of the beneficiaries depend on this pension. Stopping of Misa Bandi pension will deprive a large number of families to get two time meals.

Members of Akhil Bharatiya Loktantra Senani Sangh have decided to stage statewide demonstration on January 10 and hand over a memorandum to the Governor of Madhya Pradesh,” informed Singhai Ashok Jain, Divisional Convenor of Akhil Bharatiya Loktantra Senani Sangh while addressing a press conference, on Monday.

Ashok Jain informed that the leaders of RSS, Jansangh, Samajvadi, Anandmargi, Jamat-e-Islami, Communist, students leaders, journalists, social and religious people were imprisoned during the Emergency imposed on June 25, 1975 till March 21, 1977. A large number of social workers and professionals, who fought for democratic rights of residents during the Emergency, were given monthly pension equivalent to the freedom fighters upto Rs 25,000.
