Collector issues directives to officers for R-Day

An important meeting to discuss preparations for Republic Day programmes was organised in the conference hall at the Collectorate. Collector Chhavi Bhardwaj chaired the meeting.

Addressing senior officials, the Collector directed to ensure needed arrangements for Republic Day programmes in a grand and graceful manner in the district. She said like every year this year too, main Republic Day programme will be organised at Pt Ravi Shankar Shukla Stadium (Wright Town Stadium) on January 26. Chief guest will unfurl national flag at 9 am.

It was informed during the meeting that SAF, District Police, NCC cadets, Scouts and Guides apart from team of Gram Evam Raksha Samiti will participate in the parade. Final rehearsal of parade and cultural programmes will be done on January 23.
During the meeting, the Collector directed senior officials to ensure grand and attractive look to tableaux to be taken out during the programme. Likewise, she also gave similar directives for cultural programmes to be performed by school children.

The Collector asked all departments to decide theme of tableaux at the earliest and get approved the same by Chief Executive Officer, District Panchayat. She directed to get brochure design which would have all the details of tableaux and cultural programmes to be organised during Republic Day.

Bhardwaj directed senior officials to ensure unfurling of national flag till 8 am at all Government offices in the district on Republic Day. She also asked to illuminate all Government and historic buildings on the occasion of Republic Day.

The Collector also gave necessary directives for proper seating arrangements in the stadium during Republic Day programme. She asked senior officials to ensure necessary arrangements to bring freedom fighters to Republic Day programme venue. She also bestowed responsibilities regarding main Republic Day programme to senior officials and directed concerned departments to maintain proper coordination.

Viewing cold conditions, she asked senior officials to get the venue covered from top where small school children would sit in the stadium during the programme. She also directed District Education Officer to ensure that the students wear uniform while participating in main Republic Day programme. She asked officials of all departments to reach before scheduled time at main Republic Day programme venue.

Later, Superintendent of Police Amit Singh also directed concerned police officials for needed security and traffic arrangements on Republic Day.
Senior officials present during the meeting were CEO District Panchayat, Rajni Singh, Assistant Collector, Dr Rahul Fanting, Assistant Collector V P Dwivedi, ASP Deepak Shukla and others senior officials.
