Members of Police Parivar submit memo to Home Minister

Members of police parivaar led by Rakesh Yadav along with Arun Singh Sisodia State Secretary for Jan Adhikar Parishad, met Home Minister Tamradhawaj Sahu and handed over a memorandum highlighting their demands. The delegation comprising of members of police families from different parts of the state including Surguja, Durg, Rajnandgaon, Bilaspur, etc were assured by the Home Minister that the state government has constituted a committee which is carrying out its study on 17 different issues pertaining to the welfare of police personnel and their family members. Very soon the said Committee will be submitting its report and recommendations. Based on these recommendations, the State Government will take decisions which would benefit the police personnel and their family members.


In the memorandum, the members of police families demanded that the petrol allowance should be hiked to Rs 3000, monthly House Rent Allowance should be hiked to Rs 5000, mobile allowance to Rs 500, Rs 10,000 should be paid instead of kit, ration allowance should be hiked Rs 3000, traveling allowance and grade-pay should be hiked to Rs 2400, rifle maintenance charges to 300, cash city allowance should be hiked to 10 percent of basic, uniform maintenance allowance should be hiked to Rs 1000, etc. They also urged to include, a former police personnel (jawan), media person and a social worker, in the Wage/Allowance Revision Committee so as to ensure that practical and necessary demands are included.

The police families also demanded reinstatement of police personnel who were terminated during police agitation and also cases filed against police personnel and their family members during the agitation should be withdrawn also.
