Chief Minister urges students to follow ethics of Gandhiji

The annual day of Dr Khubchand Baghel Government College, Bhilai-3 celebrated with show and pomp at the college premises. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel graced the occasion as chief guest along with Cabinet Minister Guru Rudra Kumar and other dignitaries as special invitees. 

At the outset, programme commenced with lighting of ceremonial lamp at the handoff chief guest followed by garlanding the portrait of Goddess Saraswati and Dr Khubchand Baghel. Later, the meritorious students, who proved their mettle in academic and non-academic activities, were awarded with mementos and citation by invited dignitaries.

With the scintillating cultural programme the students from Dr Khubchand Baghel College have enthralled the audience, assembled in the programme. To mark the occasion of 71st death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, an exhibition was also organised to depict standard of living of Mahatma Gandhi.

Speaking on the occasion CM Bhupesh Baghel motivated the students for performing well in the examinations and said that a person can achieve all his desired goals with determination and consistent hard work. He also urged the students to follow the ethics of Gandhiji. He added that today we are living in an Independent country because of Gandhi’s morals and efforts and urged all to follow the path shown by him and abide by the values he stood for. Principal Dr Jyothi Raje Singh proposed a vote of thanks.

 

CM Baghel visits Durg

Durg: Chief Minister and CPCC Chief Bhupesh Baghel was in Durg on Thursday. He made it clear that in his opinion no sitting MLA and Minister will contest Lok Sabha elections and youth should be given chance but decision of party high command will be final. Like Assembly elections party workers’ opinion will be given due consideration.

Replying to journalists query about comment of Leader Opposition Dharamlal Kaushik regarding Thailand visit of Health Minister T S Singhdeo, he said that it is prejudiced mentality. Kaushik should be asked as to why BJP authorities visited Thailand and erstwhile BJP government even sent journalists there on government expenditure. He targeted Prime Minister for dual policy by preventing purchase of rice from Central Pool.

Congress government has given relief to farmers by loan waiver as promised in manifesto. He said that he is going to write a letter to PMO for changing date of Prime Minister’s visit on February 8. He wants to attend the programme but Assembly Session will be under way. So it will be difficult to attend his programme. He paid courtesy visit to DCC President R N Verma.
