SIT to libel tribal: Manturam Pawar

Staff Reporter,

RAIPUR,

Bhupesh Baghel led Congress Government is working with malicious political vendetta against him as there was no point in setting up Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe a case rejected long ago by the Apex Court, stated Manturam Pawar Special Investigation Team while demanding appointment of a retired High Court Judge to monitor the SIT probe in the case.

He was talking to mediapersons before heading to the old Central Crime Branch (CCB) Head Quarter for interrogation in the Antagarh tape scam by Special Investigation Team.  He also threatened of filing cases under provisions of SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities Act and a defamation case if nothing comes out of the probe. They are trying to threaten and libel a tribal man, Pawar added.

Most important person in the scam, Manturam Pawar held an hour-long closed-door meeting with the former Chief Minister Raman Singh before he headed to crime branch office.

After reaching the old CCB Head Quarters, Manturam Pawar stated that previous Government couldn’t find anything substantial in the case even after a detailed investigation. Now, Bhupesh Baghel led State Government has formed the Special Investigation Team for no apparent reason, but political vendetta. Congress Party at that time was embroiled in inner conflicts, which is why he had withdrawn the nomination. Pawar rejected the allegations of accepting money for nomination withdrawal. He was still unaware about the reasons of Special Investigation Team summoning him.

Antagarh case was rejected by the High Court and the Supreme Court. He has no idea who took money, but allegation on him is fallacious.
