‘Agro industries have high potential for entrepreneurship’

MSME-DI Nagpur, organised an awareness programme on various MSME schemes for women entrepreneurs and SHG groups at MSME-DI conference hall recently. The objective of the programme was to make aware the existing and prospective women entrepreneurs about the various schemes of MSME on agro based products which will be helpful in employment generation.


Advocate Manohar Parchure gave lecture on scope of entrepreneurship in agro and food industries. P M Parlewar, Director of MSME-DI, Nagpur, Dr Yogita Kasture, Consultant of GIZ MSME Inno projects were also present.
Speaking on the occasion, P M Parlewar said, “MSME-DI, Nagpur is always ready to give encouragement and help the women to come forward and become successful entrepreneurs. India being agriculture based country, there is a vast scope for production and manufacture of agro based products in India.”


He spoke about the various schemes of Ministry of MSME for the women entrepreneurs based on agro products. He said, “Now the schemes are revised and more simplified and appealed the women participants to get acquainted with the schemes and take optimum benefit,” he added.
Parlewar called upon the women entrepreneurs to approach MSME-DI for innovative ideas in agro industries. “By working on these ideas and innovations, women can become successful entrepreneur and will also be able to provide employment to other womens too,” he noted.


Advocate Manohar Parchure in his speech encouraged and motivated the women entrepreneurs by citing various examples and his own experiences. Having extensive experience in organic food products, he enlightened the participants by citing various examples like Waigaon turmeric, health drink from hibiscus sabdarifa, ambado tablets, turmeric tablets which are useful in preventing cancer etc.


He said, “Nothing is impossible for women now adays. With Innovative ideas they can be successful entrepreneurs.” He gave some fundamental rules for successful entrepreneurs. To begin with, one has to start on his own and not to depend on others. Thorough knowledge of the products to be manufactured is very important. Utility of machinery. He said, in the beginning instead of investing money in huge machineries, outsourcing can be done. Best quality of products is very important to get the buyer for the product. Never compromise on quality, he said. “Consumers are ready to pay higher prices for good quality products. Satisfied consumers are the key to successful entrepreneurship.In the end, he appealed to all the women participants to get benefit from his knowledge and assured all help whenever needed.


Dr Yogita Kasture, Consultant, GIZ MSME INNO Project also spoke on the occasion. She encouraged the women participants to come forward and by taking the various schemes of Ministry of MSME be successful entrepreneurs. She said,” For women now the time is right to become job givers than the job seekers.” Sunil Khujnare, Assistant Director of MSME-DI Nagpur gave power point presentation on various schemes of MSME. He also briefed about the KVIC, DIC and NSIC schemes. The programme was co-ordinated by K T Kalkar, Assistant Director, MSME-DI, Nagpur who also proposed vote of thanks. The programme received overwhelming response from existing and prospective women entrepreneurs of Vidarbha.
