‘Cong to recharge rivulets to improve ground water level’

Congress Government is planning to launch a scheme to recharge all rivulets to improve ground water level, said Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel while addressing a programme at Tarra village under Patan block of Durg district.
The Chief Minister participated in the programme of Chandranahu Kshatriya Samaj.
Baghel said that he had worked as a minister in the first government of Chhattisgarh and had devised a scheme for recharging of drains. Good results had come to fore and drains in Patan area were recharged increasing the ground water-level considerably, he stated.


The Congress government will now focus to work for recharge of rivulets in the State that would be the best way to increase ground water levels. Soils of the drains are muddy that is useful for crops, he added.


The Chief Minister urged the farmers to make livestock as their strength. If people leave some lands for Gauthan, then big lands can be saved from grazing of cattle and it will prove boon for the farmers of the state, he added.
The Chief Minister was accorded warm welcome by the office-bearers of the Chandranahu Kshatriya Samaj.
