Patel community celebrates ‘Basant Panchami’

The pious occasion of ‘Basant Panchami’ was observed by the Patel community in State with gaiety. On the occasion special puja was conducted of deity Shakambhari Devi. In the Purani Basti area here in the State Capital, women from the Patel community took out ‘Kalash Yatra’ which was followed by attractive cultural programmes by the members and their children of the Patel community.
With an objective to spread social message, the cultural programmes were focused on girl education and de-addiction. On the occasion the women of the community took pledge to support complete prohibition in the State.

Addressing the gathering President of the Organising Committee Parvati Patel said that it is necessary to encourage the Matri-Shakti so that they can achieve numero uno position in every field through hard work. She also called upon the society and community to give the Matri Shakti their due respect. She expressed concern over increasing addiction problems particularly among the youths and children and called upon women to collectively initiate a movement in favour of complete prohibition.

Present during the programme were Tara Patel, Dhaneshwari Patel,  Saraswati Patel, Anjubala Patel, Lata Patel, Madhu Patel, Annapurna Patel as well as large number of people from the Patel community.
