Interim Budget looks positive for  steel industry: SAIL Chairman

Anil Kumar Chaudhary, Chairman, SAIL has termed the Interim Budget-2019-20 as positive for steel industry. The budget allocation for expanding the railway infrastructure, improving connectivity through Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana and scaling up the Sagarmala project are all indications for more steel consumption in the country. 

Chaudhary said that the Budget announcement for industry as a whole looks positive. The development of infrastructure in the Country has been given further emphasis in this Interim Budget as well. The sectors like railways, roadways and waterways remain the focus areas of growth.

Chairman, Chaudhary further pointed that this Budget has allocated over Rs 158 crore with special emphasis upon modernisation and expansion of Indian Railway with provision of more facilities for the passengers. While expressing his pleasure SAIL Chairman Chaudhary specifically pointed that SAIL has already supplied over 1,03,234 tonnes rails to the Indian Railway in January 2019. Along with this SAIL is now fully geared up for supplying more than enough rails to Indian Railway.
