Silk India expo begins at Chitnis Centre

SILK India Exhibition has opened its doors for visitors from Friday. The expo is being held at Chitnis Centre, Civil Lines till February 14. It is showcasing amazing products of cotton, silk, handloom made by master craftsmen from all over India displayed in 40 different stalls.

The participants are directly selling their products at the lowest costs and customers can get authentic and exclusive products and promote these artisans. The products on display include exclusive and attractive silk and cotton sarees, dress materials, suits, stoles, dupattas, kurtas and kurties along with fashion jewellery and artefacts for home decor. The regional and states’ specialities include host of varieties like Bhagalpuri, Tassar, Kosa and Khadi silk of Bihar, Lucknow Chikan, Jamdani and Banaras silk from Uttar Pradesh, Chanderi and Maheshwari silk of MP. Patola, Bandhini and Kutch embroidery from Gujarat, Bandhei, Block print and Sanganeri print from Rajasthan.

Bangalore silk and printed crepe from Karnataka, Jammu and Kashmir with embroidered and Tabi silk, Kanjvaram and Coimbature cotton from Tamil Nadu whereas Eastern State of West Bengal will offer Balucheri, Kantha, Tangail and Jamdani, Pochampally from Andhra Pradesh, Nagaland’s dry flowers, cane bags and terracotta from Assam, Jute bags from Bengal.

The organisers has appealed to people to visit the exhibition between 11 am to 9.30pm and take benefit of the goldem opportunity to buy attractive products. The exhibition will come to an end on February 14.
