Man wanted in fraud case arrested from Indore

A man wanted in multiple cases of frauds running in crores of rupees was brought to Raipur on Sunday after his arrest in Indore a day ago.  According to the police, Amanaka resident applicant Lalit Kumar Agrawal (60), son of Shyamlal Agrawal, had reported at the Azaad Chowk Police Station that accused a resident of Samta Colony Mahendra Kumar Gupta, son of Ramratan Gupta, had signed an agreement of 5 plots for Rs 15 crores. But, Mahendra Kumar Gupta used forged documents to sign the agreement and sold the one of the plots to Manoj Agrawal for Rs 88.65 lakhs. Remaining plots were also sold to someone else.

On his complaint, Azaad Chowk Police began search after registering a case under Section 420 of Indian Penal Code (IPC).  There are many such cases registered  against Mahendra at Police Stations of Saraswati Nagar, Ganj, Purani Basti, Pandri, Ramnagar Post etc while the JMFC Courts had issued 31 warrants under Sections 138 of NIA Act/420 of Indian  Penal Code.  Police tracked him down to the Tukoganj in Indore. However, his wife cum co-accused Sunita Gupta managed to escape the arrest.
