Decks clear for unique health exhibition ‘Kutuhal’, to start today

Decks have been cleared for the unique educative health exhibition ‘Kutuhal’ beginning on Saturday at Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT) campus. The event will conclude on Monday, February 11.

Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Surface Transport will inaugurate it on Saturday at 11 am. Jagat Nadda, Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare; Suresh Prabhu, Union Minister of Commerce and Industries; Girish Mahajan, Maharashtra Minister of Medical Education and Research; Vinod Tawde, Maharashtra Minister of Education; Ajay Sancheti, ex-Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha will grace the occasion.

Vigyan Bharati, along with VNIT, Indian Medical Association (IMA) and National Cancer Institute (NCI) are jointly organising KUTUHAL. People can visit the exhibition between 10 am and 8 pm.

Public interactive sessions

Apart from main programme there will be public interactive sessions on general health topics everyday at various halls. On Saturday at 1 pm Dr Abhinav Deshpande will speak on Robotic Surgery, Dr Maya Tulpule on Vitiligo at 2 pm and Dr Sindhu Ganvir on oral cancer at 3 pm.

On Sunday, February 10, Dr Sunita Lawange will guide audience on pain management at 11 am, Dr Ravi Wankhede on organ donation at 12 noon, Dr Prakash Khetan on neurology at 1 pm and Dr Umesh Ramtani on Anaesthesia at 2 pm.

On Monday, February 11, Dr Rahul Saxena will deliver lecture on liver transplant at 11 am, Dr Pramod Padole on Bio-Medical Engineering at 12 noon, Dr Radha Munje on respiratory disorders at 1 pm and Dr Vasanti Thote on diabetes treatment at 2 pm.

Panel discussion

There will be a panel discussion on ‘health scenario of Nagpur’ on Sunday, February 10 at 7.30 pm. Dr Prashant Jagtap, highly acclaimed Cardiologist, Dr Chaitanya Shembekar, well-known Gynaecologist, Dr Shailesh Kelkar, noted Neurosurgeon, Dr Parimal Fuke, famous Radiologist, Dr Neha Deshpande, Ophthalmologist are the panelists.

ISA, Nagpur arranges Operation Theatre and ICU Model display

A big modular architecture of operation theatre and ICU design arranged by Indian society of Anaesthesiologists (ISA) Nagpur will be the main attraction.

The common man has lots of myths and doubts about medical science and is unaware about what is there behind four walls of operation theatre. The visitors attending this expo will actually witness the model and come to know about machinery, equipment, anaesthesia machine, OT table and other instruments present in OT and ICU like ventilators, monitors, emergency trolleys etc. ISA members also give presentation of Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). All members, office-bearers of ISA will explain every minute detail to visitor.

Dr Sunita Lawange, President ISA NCB took initiative to bring extraordinary OT and ICU design for display for the first time in Nagpur. Dr Shital Dalal, Past President and member of Technical committee of Kutuhal along with Dr Umesh Ramtani, Honourary Secretary have appealed all to visit the stall.

Eight stalls only on heart

Dr Prashant Jagtap, a leading Interventional Cardiologist and his team has put eight stalls in line to provide information on various aspects of heart including stents at KUTUHAL. According to Dr Jagtap, heart has so many aspects that one stall can not explain them so he decided to go for eight stalls.
