Anusuiya Uikey, Vice-Chairperson, National Commission for Scheduled Tribes, has been appointed as the new Governor of Chhattisgarh by President Ramnath Kovind. Anusuiya Uikey, 62, is from Chhindwara in Madhya Pradesh, a politician from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was a former member of Rajya Sabha representing Madhya Pradesh, the upper house of the Indian Parliament.
Till now, Madhya Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel held the additional charge of Chhattisgarh after the former Governor of Chhattisgarh Balramdasji Tandon passed away. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has extended his heartiest greetings and best wishes to Anusuiya Uikey on being given responsibility of Governor Chhattisgarh. The Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, in his message, hoped that under the guardianship of Anusuiya Uike, the Chhattisgarh Government will receive new energy and confidence.
