New initiative Rickshaws to now collect wet, dry garbage from narrow streets, small places

To strengthen the cleanliness and garbage disposal system of the city by the Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) garbage will now be collected through rickshaws from the narrow streets and small places of the city.
Mayor Malti Rai inaugurated 84 rickshaws by flagging them off in separate programmes in different zones on Thursday. In Ayodhya Nagar, rickshaws were inaugurated for the ward areas of Govindpura Assembly in the presence of Minister of State for Backward Classes and Minority Welfare (Independent Charge) Krishna Gaur and in Traffic Park, rickshaws were inaugurated for the ward areas of South-West Assembly in the presence of MLA Bhagwandas Sabnani. Additional Commissioner Devendra Singh Chauhan, Mayor-In-Council members R K Singh Baghel, Rajesh Hingorani, Manoj Rathore, Jagdish Yadav, besides zone presidents, councilors and other officers of the corporation and eminent citizens were present.
Mayor Malti Rai inaugurated 84 cycle rickshaws in different zone areas by flagging them off with a view to further strengthen the system of cleanliness and garbage disposal, especially door-to-door garbage collection, and to cover all areas of each ward. These cycle rickshaws will collect garbage door-to-door from the narrow lanes and small areas with dense population.
For the inauguration of garbage collection rickshaws, in a program organized at the office of Zone No. 16 in Ayodhya Nagar, 25 rickshaws were inaugurated for garbage collection in Zone No. 15 and 16 in the presence of Minister of State for Backward Classes and Minority Welfare (Independent Charge) Krishna Gaur, while in the office premises of Zone No. 07 located at Traffic Park, Mayor Malti Rai inaugurated 20 rickshaws for the areas of Zone No. 06, 07, 08 and 21 in the presence of MLA Bhagwandas Sabnani.
The Mayor inaugurated garbage collection rickshaws in Zone No. 14 rickshaws were flagged off in an event organised at the office premises located in Royal Market, Zone 02 and 25 rickshaws were flagged off for the areas of Zone No. 13 and 14 in the zone office premises located in Amari. Thus, a total of 84 rickshaws were inaugurated which will collect garbage from the narrow streets and small places of the city.
